In the northern part of Markham, close to the Kennedy Road and 16th Street intersection, lies a subdivision called Angus Glen. It was once a farm where Black Angus cattle and thoroughbred horses were grown, but in 1995 it was transformed into two 18-hole championship golf courses. Numerous golf competitions, including the Canadian Open and the Pan American Games, have taken place at Angus Glen. South of Angus Glen is the lovely and historic town of Unionville.
